Not even apology

Original review Sep 12, 2023
Disappointment doesnt even begin to summarize my experience with the BMW dealership in Murray, Utah. The customer service when purchasing a BMW X5 was horrid.

The deal was finalized, parties agreed on all conditions and a deposit made! Instead of finalizing the paperwork and completing the sale transaction, l was told they decided to prioritize and sell this car to an employee because they wanted it over giving it to a customer that has already solidified the purchase.
This was a horrible customer experience as this was a car Ive been on the hunt for over a year, not a cheap purchase. Not sure if they disregarded me because of my accent and thought they could shuffle this to an employee without hesitation but Ive never had such a disappointing experience.
How can a company stop the transaction with a customer just because an employee wanted it?
First time I found my dream car and was willing to do anything to get it and was dismissed and set aside. Spend time and prepping financials for this purchase.

I do regret every second spend with BMW and have been left with a horrible feeling and taste in my mouth. This company has no right to take pride on their customer service as they do not value their customer in the least bit.

Terrible customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

AWorst experience Ive had with a dealership in 30 years! I leased an M850i from a BMW of Des Moines from Calvin May of 21.

6 month ago I had the car dropped off to fix a flat. In the process they lost my spare key. Last month my sunroof stopped working so I called in on two different occasions could never reach the service department. On the third day that I was going to follow up and see if I could get a hold of anyone my car completely stopped working altogether.

It wont start no power nothing so I continued with calls attempting to get a hold of the service department. After five continuous days I was able to reach the front desk and spoke to an individual named Geri. I asked if anyone was working in the service department and she said of course theyre working there but theyre really busy and I told her she didnt have to be so rude and she hung up on me. I called back and asked her if she would give me a manager and she said no and hung up on me again.

So I proceeded to call my sales guy Calvin and ask for assistance which he offered. I was out of town so I had a family member attempt to drop the keys off at again either Jerry or the service manager Im not sure who because I wasnt there refused to take the keys because they said I had to go through a series of steps before they would except the car in for service. So naturally I text my sales guy Calvin back and asked if he could assist and nothing.crickets.

I would avoid this dealership like the plague Ive never dealt with such terrible customer service in my life. I get businesses are shorthanded and working tirelessly but Im out of town for two months all they had to do was take my keys and say will get to it as soon as we can sorry for the inconvenience.

Bad service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

On my way from Halifax to Toronto, the engine light went on . My car is 750i .

2013 with 86000 km. The first available BMW service was in Moncton New Brunswick. The service department received my car for diagnosis. I was told two valves are out due to misfiring and I have to come back next day at 7:30 am to fix the problem.

Next day I found out the dealer doesn't have any parts for the car in his inventory. They ordered a coil and spark plug from other local suppliers. I was waiting more than 3 hours for the parts to come, and after they installed them, the problem was not fixed .I was informed an injector has to be replaced which is not available and it will take more than 4 days to have .which I can't stay at the hotel for 4 days and take more risk .

I decided to drive my car until I find BMW dealer on my way and get the car fixed. I ended paying $294.00 to the dealer for less than 30 min of actual work and without having the car fixed.on my way I called many BMW dealers to find the injector without any luck

FEM has packed up in 25000 km. Workshop says pay for new FEM & after that we will diagnose problem and advise further expenses? Ridiculous!

My car has done 25000 km. BMW says maybe problems with FEM. They want me to pay for new FEM & only then will they diagnose and advise further problems & related expenses? This cant be an open ended expense sheet for BMW to charge for experimenting with my car with poor quality parts! Sick of their attitude.

Customer service received

I purchased a 330xi from off lease in southern Florida and not from the dealer located in my area because the salesman said he would get back with us, and we never heard from him. So we went elsewhere. The problem is the 12V does not work. I have taken it to Z Motors in Fort Walton Beach 3(three) times to have this fixed. They keep telling me it just a fuse. The last time I went, I was told there were no techs available to work on the car. The service guy said it just a fuse and he and the other service guy changed the fuse. I went out of town, it didn't last 48 hours. There has to be a reason this fuse keeps blowing. The car is still under warranty, so why can't we get this issue resolved?? I just made an appointment again, this time they cannot see me until September 20th. That's crazy. We would like to get this resolved before thy try to run out the warranty.

Inaccurate speedometer

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have a new 2020 BMW X3. The speedometer reads about 3 miles per hour faster than actual speed. This is a known problem, confirmed by my BMW dealers service department. Apparently BMW foisted a number of vehicles with mis-calibrated speedometers on an unsuspecting American public. Now refuses to do anything about it since its within spec. Wrong answer. When you know you have a common mode problem with a safety subsystem, which the speedometer is, you fix it.

As of this date June 9 still no 'i" for my trunk logo. Supposedly dealership ordered a complete logo replacement 3 weeks ago.

Still no resolve. Not a big deal but you know "its the little things." that make one upset.

Original review May 10, 2021
I purchased a 2022 BMW 740 with sports package on April 30. After getting vehicle home I noticed the logo on the trunk just had 740. No "i". So I inquired. Sent E mail and called.

BMW appears to be having consistent issues with attempting to pair music apps from phone to car. Sad but true and no CD player so one is stuck with Sirius.

I RETURNED THE VEHILE AFTER A MISERABLE 3 YR LEASE. I RECEIVED A STATEMENT FOR "EXCESS WEAR &; USE". WHEN VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AT THE DEALER I WAS TOLD "VEHICLE LOOKS GREAT". IT HADNT BEEN DRIVEN IN A YEAR AND WAS RETURNED WITH NEARLY 18000 MILES LESS THAN WHAT WAS ALLOWED. THAT IS NOT EXCESS WEAR!!!!

BMW no longer supports online access.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
5 years after I bought my 2016 x3 they tell me they no longer support online access. Seems like a little thing. My navigation doesn't work any more, voice access is severely limited. One of the original features I really liked was the navigation and online access. Paid extra for it. Now, I just get oh too bad. They keep sending me ads to buy another one. That's crap. I won't ever buy another one. This is my fourth bmw, and my last.
